The Cove Rotana Resort, Ras Al Khaimah
This weekend, we celebrated my friend's birthday with renting a villa at The Cove Rotana Resort in Ras Al Khaimah, which is an Emirate about 1h from Dubai. They also have hotel rooms, but if you are family or a group of friends traveling, I recommend the villas on the hill!
What I like about this resort is the environment. It is relaxing and the greenery and small alleys were welcoming since we don't see a lot of that in Dubai.
Ras Al Khaimah is one of the 7 emirates of the UAE and is also the emirate where to find plenty of places to rent buggies and quad bikes for the desert. You can rent from the hotel or take a taxi and say that you want to rent buggies/quad bikes (cheaper and independent from the hotel). Ras Al Khaimah also offers a lot of water sports.
(To dive/snorkel, I however recommend, Fujairah, which is an Emirate in the north!)
